After powering on your d3-k1, d3kOS should be fully booted within 90 seconds. Here is how to confirm everything is running correctly.
Step 1 — Check the status LED. The Raspberry Pi has a green activity LED. Steady green after boot means the system is idle and healthy. Rapid flashing means disk activity — normal during startup. If the LED is off after two minutes, the Pi has not booted.
Step 2 — Connect to the dashboard. On your phone or tablet, connect to the same Wi-Fi network as the Pi. Open a browser and enter the Pi’s IP address. The d3kOS dashboard should load within a few seconds. If you see a browser error, the Pi is not reachable on the network.
Step 3 — Check the signal readouts. The dashboard displays GPS position, speed over ground, and heading. If NMEA 2000 is connected, engine RPM, coolant temperature, and oil pressure also appear. All values update in real time.
Step 4 — Run a voice query. Say “What is my speed?” and Skipper Don should respond with your current speed over ground. A response confirms the AI layer, microphone, and speaker are all operational.
If any step fails, search this forum for the specific symptom or post a new topic with the error message you are seeing.
